The Voice of the Violin
(book #4 of the Inspector Montalbano series)
by Andrea Camilleri. Another good read. The crime in these novels is pretty hard-core stuff but
the author doesn't really dwell on it. It's very matter-of-fact. This novel was a little more of
a whodunit with Inspector Montalbano coming through again with his brilliant observations. I was advised to read these books in order, and it's apparent now that's a good suggestion. There are several "continuing sagas" in the books, and introductions of new characters that take on roles in subsequent books. I have a trip coming up in a few weeks so book #5 will be tossed in my bag. |
