December 2006. Timeline by Michael Crichton.  I've read several of Michael Crichton's books (Jurassic Park, Congo, The Lost World, to name a few) but this is by far my favorite.  This book has high tech, time travel, and a reconstructed Medieval world...and a pretty darn good story.  If you are like me and rarely read any real fiction, pick up this book and enjoy it.
