A Tear at the Edge of Creation. A Radical New Vision for Life in an Imperfect Universe.
by Marcello Gleiser. This book was recommended to me by prof. Rich Olenick at the University of Dallas as I was preparing for a lecture at the Dallas Ministry Conference in 2016. The author is a theoretical physicist from Dartmouth. His book is a personal journey through his life as a scientist and general searcher of truth. I dod not get a sense of his organizational religious views, but there was a strong sense that we scientists are on a pilgrimage toward truth that may ultimately be beyond our grasp.
Along with a very good overview of current trends and thinking in cosmology, the author gives a reasoned argument for the uniqueness, and fragility, of life on earth.
I enjoyed the book and it gives some unique and thought-provoking perspectives.
