August 2012 (trip to India) St.Peter's Fair by Ellis Peters. This is the 4th Brother Cadfael mystery.

There certainly seem to be a lot of murders and foul play around Shrewsbery and the Abbey of St. Peter and Paul. This story involves the murder of a Bristol businessman while attending the annual St. Peter's Fair hosted by the abbey. .

The reader gets a lot of interesting details in these books about life and death and war in the 12th Century. In this book there is quite a lot of discussion of the state-of-the-art (for the time period) cross-bow, or arbelest. It was contrasted with the Welsh bow, a shorter version of the 6 foot English longbow. Another good read. I like this series of books.
