Sacred Fire. A Vision for Deeper Human and Christian Maturity.
by Ronald Rolheiser. I became acquainted with this book on a visit to Subiaco Abbey in March, 2017. I was privileged to take my meals with the monks and during the silent dinner meals, and this was the book the monks were listening to(one of the community eats early then reads to the rest during dinner).
I found that the topics in this book really struck at the heart of Christianity as practiced by those who have been practicing a while. It differentiates the faith of our youth with the mature faith that must navigate the world in its grayness. The premise is that a mature faith wants to give itself away. Lots of issues in this book that struck pretty close to home for me.
I highly recommend this book.
