God's Mechanics. How Scientists and Engineers Make Sense of Religion.
by Brother Guy Consolmagno, SJ. Brother Guy is a Ph.D Planetary Scientist, a Jesuit brother, and now director of the Vatican Observatory. His book chronicles several years of discussions with "techies" about how, and if, they try to make sense of God and religion. As you might imagine, there are many responses, but the most common is the search for reasoned approach to a personal God. Brother Guy's contemplation of the Trinity in Chapter 12 are particularly thought provoking. For example, he reflects on God the Holy Spirit with respect to the conception and subsequent impact of the Apple iPhone: "iGod". Good stuff.
I got to meet Brother Guy in May 2017 on a visit to Rome with the University of Dallas.
