The Confession of Brother Haluin
by Ellis Peters. This is the fifteenth of the Brother Cadfael mystery series. An accident during roof repair in
winter leaves one of the brothers (Haluin) near death. He gives a deathbed confession to the abbot and Brother
Cadfael, then recovers after all. Cadfael accompanies Brother Haluin on a pilgrimage as his self-imposed penance. The
pilgrimage opens old wounds and deceptions that lead to murder. Brother Cadfael is there to put the pieces
together and force some resolution.
This is another very good read.
