October 2017 Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick. I brought this with me on a recent trip to Boston to read in preparation for seeing the new "Bladerunner" movie, since the original 1982 movie was based on this book. Having recently watched the 1982 movie, the movie plot is roughly based on the chain of events in the book, but the book (as you might imagine) is a bit more complex. In fact, I think it would be hard to follow the 1982 Bladerunner plot without first reading the book. It's a very good story. I don't read read a lot of science fiction, but this was an intriguing story about a bounty hunter tracking down rogue andriods. The scene is set on earth following a nuclear war that left the planet nearly uninhabitable with most of the population (who could afford it) living off-world. There is a strong parallel plot about a popular religion and a market for pets, living and electric.
